Fisher & Paykel's products were awarded the 'Red Dots' out of more than 4600 entries submitted from over 50 countries to the highly-acclaimed awards programme, which is based in Germany.
"Red Dot is the best of the best of international design awards, recognising products for their superior design quality since the 1950s," says Mark Elmore, Head of Industrial Design.
"With this recognition, the Fisher & Paykel brand joins companies such as Nokia, Volkswagen, Montblanc, Joseph and Joseph, Sony and 3M in the line-up of current and past 'Red Dot' winners."
Fisher & Paykel's Gas on Glass cooktop is already proving popular among consumers, and our 60cm Built-In Oven has debuted with the 'Red Dot' seal of quality for excellent design in the coming months.
"It is extremely exciting that our new oven received this level of recognition before it hit the market. It's a further signal of our success in literally re-engineering the oven from the inside out to create this design. With this new oven we've achieved premium aesthetics and cooking performance while also crafting the world's largest capacity 60cm oven."
Fisher & Paykel's entries competed against thousands of others submitted by manufacturers, designers and architects. It took several days for the largest-ever expert panel, which included the likes of high-street and celebrity shoe designer Jimmy Choo, to make their decisions.
Mark Elmore says: "We all can be very proud of this achievement, but in particular, a huge congratulations to all those designers, engineers and product developers who have had a direct hand in crafting these world class appliances."
