Possible Causes
- Food with strong odours has been stored uncovered in the refrigerator
- New water filter hasn't been properly flushed before use
- Ice has been stored too long and has absorbed freezer odours
How to Fix the Issue
Clean the ice storage bin
- Turn off the ice maker and remove the ice storage bin.
- Discard all the ice cubes, and wash the bin with mild dish detergent and warm water.
- Rinse and dry the bin thoroughly and put it back in the freezer.
- Turn the ice maker back on.
Reduce odours in the refrigerator
- Cover and seal food before you put it in the refrigerator.
- Remove any expired foods with strong odours.
- Place an open box of baking soda in the refrigerator to absorb odours.
Flush the water filter system when you install a new filter
- Dispense 4-5 litres (1-1.5 gallons) of water through the new filter.
- Make ice and discard the first few batches.
Helpful Tips
- Replace your water filter every 6 months to maintain water quality.
- Discard and refresh ice if not used frequently.
