Customer Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fisher & Paykel Single Dishwasher Drawer I was leery of purchasing this dishwasher drawer because of some of the reviews. We have had zero issues with it and are totally happy with its performance. It has been a month of lots of use and it cleans very well. The amount of glasses and dishes you can load into this smaller dish drawer is much more than I thought it would be. The only thing that you have to be aware of is that you need an installer experienced with Fisher & Paykel or you could have problems. Also, be aware of how much detergent you put it. There are specific lines to fill to. My installer said that when people have issues lots of times it is overloading with detergent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Out with the old model, In with the new model Replaced our 25 year old dishdrawer with a new unit which fit the cabinet space perfectly, this new unit is quieter than the older one and has sanitize mode We were happy with the old one but this new model is much better

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bring Back My Old Model Review (July 2024) for DishDrawer DD24S19N. I was replacing my two (separate) Fisher & Paykel single integrated (panel-ready) DishDrawers, which I put in with my kitchen remodel around 20 years ago. Having been happy with my old ones, I expected to love the new model (DD24S19N), under the assumption that appliances get better with every new iteration. Sadly not the case. Where do I begin? I removed my older models and installed these new models myself. Not particularly difficult to do, except if you’re using the holes on the sides of the product housing to secure the appliance to the inside of your cabinet, get ready for a physics-defying challenge. The screw holes in the sides of the appliance are next to impossible to access. Before screwing the screws in, the dishwasher must be positioned perfectly, then pulled out of its housing, without moving the whole thing one bit… and then you have to shimmy in there to fumble for the hidden screw holes. Not to mention that the action of tightening a screw all the way sometimes causes the dishwasher to move backwards or forwards slightly. Try it out — it’s fun. I must’ve gone around in circles screwing and unscrewing and moving approximately 10 times on each appliance. I would advise using the optional little brackets, supplied to screw the appliance in, from the front (sadly not applicable for my situation). Also, with the integrated model the air flow from the drying cycle is vented out of the back, which then feeds through a flexible tube that runs underneath the cabinetry and finally exits at your toe-kick area. A bit of a complicated concept, but hey, that’s life. I do wish however, they had made the push-on connection for the air vent hose to actually screw into the back of the dishwasher, or at the very least have a bayonet-type fitting. This would definitely help with the hose not coming unattached during installation… potentially a huge problem (which I narrowly avoided). Speaking of hoses, my previous model came with a Y-shaped rubber connector to feed the waste lines into my garage disposal unit (a one-inch connection). The new Y-connector can now only accommodate a 3/4-inch garage disposal connection. So I had to keep my 20 year-old connector. After getting my units installed and running, I was surprised to find out that my 11-inch dinner plates would in no way fit inside this new model. I had no other choice but to buy new 10-inch dinner plates. Which seems ridiculous after using my larger plates in the same brand of dishwasher for twenty years. Anyway, after arranging our new 10-inch dinner plates, I noticed that there is a little bit more wiggle room available, so I suppose this dishwasher can actually accommodate a 10.5-inch plate (but absolutely definitely not an 11-inch). It seems like all of the racks and the position of the main bottom-rack take up more space. Also the side shelves are much more chunky and take up more room, leaving you more restricted on interior space. I will say that it’s handy that the cup/glass racks on both sides of the dishwasher are now height-changeable. With regard to how the dishwasher actually runs… I’ve tried most of the different cycles and options. I kept finding that even with the extra dry feature selected, everything came out soaking wet at the end of the cycle, and not particularly warm to the touch when removed (as with my older model). The cycle that I’ve ended up settling on is the “Medium” cycle, with the “Sanitize” option added, which generally raises the temperature of everything. I’m sure this choice is at the opposite end of being energy-efficient or “green”. I just don’t feel like drying everything by hand. Yet it’s still not all perfectly dry (especially the cutlery and the cutlery basket). Another thing is, my old model used to have a little set of buttons on my wood-front panel of the appliance, with an LED indicator for when the device was running. That no longer exists. They have this snazzy new “knock-to-pause” feature. I’ve never ever had to pause a dishwasher mid-flow, but this maybe be a necessity for most people. This dishwasher is extremely quiet… You barely know it’s running, which can be an issue particularly because there’s no indicator on the front to show that it’s running, or for that matter show that it’s finished. I know that other brands with a blank facia, shine a laser-type light on the floor when they’re running or have recently done so. I just have to let everybody in the house know when it’s running. And we all have to guess when it’s probably done, if we didn’t happen to hear the end beeps. I wish they had used the money spent on the unnecessary, knock-to-pause feature, on a similar type light indicator for when the machine is running/finished. Speaking of sounds… my pit-bull (dog) is scared of the beeps on this dishwasher (which he wasn’t with the older model - maybe a pitch thing). So for a while I opted to turn off the sounds — but then you don’t know when the cycle’s done. Neither can you successfully set the “wash delay” option (with the sounds turned off) which signals an audible beep for every hour of delay selected. All in all, I regret switching to this new model particularly because the fix for my old model was very doable and not particularly expensive… I just wanted an upgrade, haha. My kitchen cabinets are configured in such a way that I have a single DishDrawer on each side of my kitchen sink. Thus, I have no other option than to stay in the Fisher & Paykel family. For whatever it’s worth, I wish I had bought the stainless steel (non-integrated) model to at least be able to see when these things are running or not. Of course I totally get that none of this is cancer and that I’m moaning about first-world “issues”. Bottom line — I guess it cleans fine (but that being said, I always put everything in it already looking clean anyway).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love my little drawer dishwasher I’ve had my first drawer dishwasher 14 years absolutely love them. It’s great for parties. I’m single so it’s great for me. I use it all the time. It’s just different from my first one, but I’m learning how to use it. No big deal.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unreliable + poor service Two of my friends warned me against buying a Fisher Paykel dishwasher, but my architect recommended one and I made the mistake of listening to him. BIG mistake. Just like my friends predicted, it started malfunctioning after 3-4 years (outside of the 2-year warranty). They charged me $200 for a technician visit which accomplished absolutely nothing except confirming there was an issue and telling me addressing the issue would cost me another $200 in labor, plus $40 in parts. At that point that's 50% of the cost of a new dishwasher... Might as well get me a new part. What's irksome is that no other brand offers that exact size, so now I'm forced to be loyal to a brand that has done nothing right. If you're buying a dishwasher just for looks, FP is great (and to be fair, those models are quiet too). But if you're buying one for peace of mind and longevity, *** stay away***.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don’t buy it waste of money!!!! The dishwasher has already broken 2 different times to which we have had to tear it apart ourselves because you can never get a hold of a costumer service people to help you AT ALL. NOBODY SERIOUSLY. It has a nasty smell to it and i have torn it apart and cleaned it with everything. And in order to use it you have to clean all the dishes off before putting it in the dishwasher which defeats the purpose of having a dishwasher. Warranty what warranty there is non.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great addition to our coach I installed this into our 2018 Tiffin motor coach and although I’ve only had it for about 3 months, it works great. It doesn’t dry plastic very well but it cleans the dishes that I put in it. It’s a nice addition to our coach.
