Add A Garment
The Add a Garment feature allows you to quickly add or remove any size garment mid cycle. Simply press the Add a Garment button and the door will unlock. If the drum water is too high, just enough will be drained out before the door is unlocked.

It could use a little tweak
Love this washing machine BUT it could be a little better, I do my washing once a week - it works for me so when I go to wash I will put another load on straight after the last one has finished. One thing that is a bit of a grievance is that when the load has finished you cannot just switch the dial to the next type of cycle for example if I have done an everyday cycle that runs for 60 minutes, I may need to do then do a 15 minute cycle for my next load - it will not allow you to just change the dial to this - you have to turn off the machine, turn it back on and then choose the cycle. This isn't a major issue at all and it in no way effects the washing or anything else but it is a tiny grievance.
This machine was a step up as we where using a roughly 10 year old front loading hoover that the drum was long gun but I was waiting for us to move house/ purchase to then buy a new washing machine. I was originally going to purchase the 9kg front loader but the extra options of 15/30 minute cycles where more appealing and of use for what I do. This was a great purchase for our household and one I don't begrudge. The washing machine itself holds a great capacity and a larger amount than our last washing machine meaning I am doing less loads. It also more importantly holds our super king sized bedding which was also a factor in the larger washing machine purchase. I haven't used all functions like the steamfresh which I plan on doing shortly but

Great Washing Machine - very quiet
Really happy with this Fisher and Paykel machine. It’s my second one so I prefer this to the last as it’s a lot quieter. It’s great for large loads.

Great washing machine
I bought the Fisher & Paykel 11kg front loader four months ago and have been very impressed with it. We are a family of five and it handles large loads with ease. I had initially been concerned about the large size but it handles small loads very well without over sudsing (using a low sudsing washing powder). My previous font loader would overflow water when over sudsing occurred but this machine has a great feature that sounds an alarm (beep tone) and pauses the washing until the suds settle (which usually isn't very long, and is certainly quicker than me having to mop up a sudsy overflow like I had to with my other machine). For most cycles I used the manual dosing with washing powder (best for the soft tank water we use) but I find the automatic liquid dispenser handy for the quick 15 and 30 cycles.
The cycle options are great and are an appropriate/expected length for a front loader. I generally use the cottons cycle, sheets and allergy for linen, towels, heavy and the quick 30 for pre-washing extra dirty work clothes or kids clothes. The one draw back of a front loader for towels is that even using the towel cycle I find I need to dry them in the dryer for them to be soft and fluffy. If line dried they tend to be hard and scratchy.
Our laundry is close to our living area but the general operating noise of the machine is not noticeable. It is loud during the spin cycle but on a wooden floor I don't think many machines would be quiet.
Another great feature of the machine is the reminder to clean the drum and filter after 100 washes. The drum clean cycle makes cleaning the machine very easy.
Overall I would highly recommend this machine. It has quite a few features that you would find on machines in the higher price bracket, is reliable and washes clothes well.

Excellent machine. So quiet.
Purchased the WH1160P3 11kg with steam care front load washing machine and couldn't be happier. It's sooooo quiet and have the choice of a short cycles (15min & 30min) as well as a multitude of other selections. We use the everyday (58min) for just about every wash and it cleans exceptionally well. Can even add to the wash as the water is pumping in to the drum if needed. Also uses less water than our previous 10kg top load machine, and a key lock so kids can't mess with it. Can't fault it and would recommend.
